February Favorites

February is almost over so I think that calls for a post about my favorite products that I've used this month for my hair, makeup, nails, and skin.
Makeup:
Confessions of a Concealaholic by Benefit Cosmetics. It comes with six products and two brushes. The first item is "that gal" which is a brightening face primer. Erase Paste is an apricot concealer for under your eyes, it works wonders to eliminate any blueish tones. There are two shades of Boi-ing concealer, which is amazing for any blemishes. Eye Bright is a highlight for your inner-eye or browbone. And Lemon aid takes care of any discolorations around the eyes.
Almay Clear Complexion foundation. I found this on clearance at Ulta and decided it was worth a shot. I've been wearing it for a little over two weeks and honestly I don't think it does much to clear up the skin, but I love the finish and the way it looks on my skin. It's not matte like the Almay TLC foundation, but it's not extremely dewy looking either, I find it to be a perfect compromise of the two.
Korres Mattifying Pomegranate Primer. I got this with my last purchase at Sephora after piling up beauty points for awhile. It helps to take care of any shiny spots on my face, makes my foundation smoother when I apply it, and it smells wonderful :)
BH Cosmetics Blush Palette. Nice range of colors, some are matte, some have sparkle. The darker colors work great as contour shades.

Nails:

Sinful Colors Nail Polish. Super cheap, you can get it at Walgreens for 2 dollars, though they have them on sale for 99 cents frequently. Good quality for the price and tons of colors to choose from. I bought a ton of pastel and neon colors, stocking up for when I'm finally tan and those shades look good on me.

Skin:
Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent. So acne sucks. Like really bad. But I have finally found something that seems to work for me and isn't too harsh for my skin. Things seem to be clearing up quite nicely...

Hair:
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Treatment. I have horribly damaged hair. I've been dying it for about four years and it's pretty much fried to the point where it feels like straw. I've used this for about a month and my hair feels so much healthier, it's finally soft again.
So that's it for this month :)

Crayola

Last night I was stuck at home, due to the fact that I was sick. So I decided it was time to break out the crayons I got for Christmas. Only I didn't feel like doing a typical drawing, this is what I did instead.
I colored the entire page with crayon.
Then went over it with a black crayon.
And then proceeded to scratch off an image in it. It's kind of messy, but I just wanted to see how it would turn out. Personally, I think it looks pretty cool.

The Dress

Although it doesn't really seem like it with all the work teachers give, senior year really does have its perks. Like prom for instance. Besides graduation, it's probably what I've been most looking forward to. Mostly due to the fact that I love any excuse to get all made up and take pictures.
I have spent countless hours looking up prom dresses on my phone during classes (when I had nothing else to do of course...). So on Friday I went dress shopping with my mom and best friend. I lost count of how many stores we went to and how many dresses I tried on, but I do know that we might as well have stopped after the first store, since that's where we ended back up yesterday to buy the dresses we were in love with.
But first I think it's only right to show the ones that didn't quite make the cut...
Obviously this isn't a prom dress, but I thought it was adorable.
I loved this color, however I wasn't too fond of the bow. Ignore my face, I think I got like two hours of sleep...
The Chiquita Banana dress that I just had to try on for fun.
And finally the dress I ended up getting.

I am absolutely in love with it. I've got a thing for peacocks for some reason, and i just thought this dress was beautiful, especially with the beading and corset back.
Too bad i have 2 more months until I get to wear it for real. Dear prom, please come quickly. :)

The Life

So I've finally decided to start blogging, and I figured I should explain a few things about myself in the first post, so...

1.) Makeup is my life. I'm completely obsessed. I decided I wanted to be a makeup artist 4 years ago, and that's still what i want to do.

2.) I do my nails frequently.

3.) I like drawing (on skin and paper), painting, and playing with clay.

So basically I'm just a 17 year old girl who likes to play with makeup and color :)

PEACE.
